left to right buck, then 4 does |
My Kidding season starts off with a big bang.. I had been watching Betty Lou, she was a bit on the wide load side. He was miserable, and i was really worried about her safty and comfort. She comes from a slow growing line that usually hold on to the kids for 150 days. she couldn't walk, she had a hard time getting up or down.. I had another doe in the kidding pens at the same time. Ivy at 146 days decided it was long enough her buns were well done... she goes in to labor and has twins one each, then as Betty hears Ivy's babies crying all heck broke loose, she shot babies out so fast we could hardly keep up.. She blessed us with 5, 4 does and 1 buck. as she was shooting them out and number 5 arrived i was looking and waiting for 6, 7, and 8.. lol..she stopped at 5, this is my first set of quints, we were all very surprised. All have found new homes except the one next to mom,, and she is a keeper
