<< Proverbs 31 Woman >> New Living Translation |
A Wife of Noble Character
She is more precious than rubies.
11Her husband can trust her,
and she will greatly enrich his life.
12She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13She finds wool and flax
and busily spins it.
14She is like a merchant’s ship,
bringing her food from afar.
15She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household
and plan the day’s work for her servant girls.
16She goes to inspect a field and buys it;
with her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17She is energetic and strong,
a hard worker.
18She makes sure her dealings are profitable;
her lamp burns late into the night.
19Her hands are busy spinning thread,
her fingers twisting fiber.
20She extends a helping hand to the poor
and opens her arms to the needy.
21She has no fear of winter for her household,
for everyone has warmc clothes.
22She makes her own bedspreads.
She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns.
23Her husband is well known at the city gates,
where he sits with the other civic leaders.
24She makes belted linen garments
and sashes to sell to the merchants.
25She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs without fear of the future.
26When she speaks, her words are wise,
and she gives instructions with kindness.
27She carefully watches everything in her household
and suffers nothing from laziness.
28Her children stand and bless her.
Her husband praises her:
29“There are many virtuous and capable women in the world,
but you surpass them all!”
30Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;
but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.
31Reward her for all she has done.
Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.
The Proverbs 31 Woman is the woman I'd like to be, I can however honestly say that i have not arrived yet. I am a mother of 6 in a joined family, 4 belong to my husband and 2 belong to me. Together we attempted to make a family.. All are now grown and creating lives and families of their own. We have been blessed with 8 grandchildren that we get to see once in a while. Sure do wish it was more often.
We live in the middle of Nebraska on a rented homestead our piece of heaven is about 10 acres. And that is just enough to become a homesteader. One of the jobs of a homesteader is mini micro farming enough to feed that family and provide an income through the animals, produce and product we raise.
At first this was a week end and evening farm as my husband had a real job as a certified welder. Four years ago tragedy struck. A blood clot got lodged behind the knee and managed to kill the foot, and this has lead to a long ruthless, frustrating, aggravating, depressing journey for the whole family. But those hardest hit were my husband and I. He know lives and struggles with life as an amputee. How many of you know that is a whole new ball game of challenges. In his case this amputation lead to a triple by pass less then a year later and over the last few years more and more challenges to face with my husbands health.
Yet still through it all God has given me the desire to survive amidst trials and tribulations. I can not imagine life without God by my side. And I don't even want to find out what that is like. With God and His Word and ideas He gives me hope. Money is very tight, and yes the state would send nurses in to take care of my husband, so i can go to work off of the farm, my husband and I have a hard time justifying and balancing the income verses me staying home to care for him and using our farm to provide for us.. so we have opted just that.. me stay at home and care for him and help provide for us..
So along come animals that i felt comfortable raising and that would provide meat milk and eggs for the family. There is also a big garden however it has not produced anything for the last 4 years for lack of time and depression on my part.. yes i had a serious problem of self pity..Thank God He is getting me back on track!!
My love and respect for animals has made my farm a heaven for a variety of animals: rabbits, chickens, ducks, turkey, guinea, goats, pigs, feeder calves, horses, LGD's Livestock guard dogs, Shelties, herding dogs, and Gretta the African Grey..This is my oil, that i have given to the Lord...along with produce from my garden, to be used to feed his people as well as my family for which I am grateful !!
Our farm is more then just a farm it is also a home and a heaven..
