We really love the milk so raising goats that put the milk in the pan is a must. I milk about 10 at a time all by hand. I do not pasteurize but handle and store the milk as quickly as possible. I am still in the learning stage of how to use the milk, so far vinegar cheese, yogurt, buttermilk, and ice cream have totally blown us away by the superior taste and quality of our home grown product.
Of course the dog like personalities of these amazing little animals
speak for themselves.

Welcome to the world of blogging. Looking forward to keeping up with your post. As far as advice on what to blog about just be yourself, post about your farm adventures, life, etc....
I also have lots of farm animals. My Pygmy is due in March and looking forward to goat milk. A friend recently gave me some and I froze it. Please share you ice cream recipe and any other recipes that turned out good.
I made vinegar cheese for a long time and Thought it could not get any easier... Well a friend told me how to make Chevre! Its is easy requires very little to make and I use it in place of Cream cheese, sour cream and ricotta. Very versatile! I have had up to 40 goats in my care at once and decided that was to many..My goal is 10 does which I am at right now but some are to young to be bred yet and giving one of my older girls a break this year. With babies I had around 24 this year but I am back down to 17 right now. That includes four wethers for meat this next spring. But babies will be here before they leave.
We have had goats since 2003. Never even considered them till my mom who lived behind us brought home a little doeling and buckling we were done for right then!Lol
